Tax Assessment
Property tax is determined by two things – the assessed value placed on the land and buildings (assessed by the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency) and the mill rate determined by the Village Council. Assessments are executed every four years and are subject to assessment appeal procedure.

RCMP
Loreburn receives its’ police protection through the RCMP detachment in Elbow, SK. They employ three police officers and their patrol area includes the Villages of Elbow, Loreburn, Strongfield and Hawarden. For more information, contact 306-854-1830.

Loreburn Fire Hall
Fire Department
The Loreburn Volunteer Fire Department consists of a Fire Chief and 10 volunteer fire fighters. The Village operates a fire truck which is owned by the Village. The volunteer firemen provide service 24 hours, seven days a week to Loreburn and district. For more information, contact 306-230-2050.
Water Supply
The Village of Loreburn pipes its water from the Line 19 Water Pipeline Utility. A certified water operator manages the villages’ water treatment system.

Water Rates effective July 1, 2023 are:
$27/1000 gallons minimum 3000 gallons per quarter
$27/1000 gallons over the minimum per quarter
$33 per hookup infrastructure fee per quarter
$108 per hookup line 19 infrastructure fee per quarter
There is a $100 charge each for water connection and disconnection.
Sewage System
Sewage effluent is pumped from a double pump lift station to a three cell Lagoon.
Current Sewer Rates are: $15 per month
Waste Disposal
40 yard container site: Located beside the Fire Hall and is completely fenced in and camera monitored. This container is for use by the Village Residents only. NO HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE ACCEPTED.
Cost: $40 per half ton load (smaller items)
$10 per item *individual items
Examples include:
EACH APPLIANCE – (Note: Fridges and Freezers not accepted. The Loreburn Transfer Station has a metal bin. Call the office to obtain a key.)

ROLL OF CARPETING
EACH MATTRESS SET, ETC.
Hours of Operation: SATURDAYS 1 – 4 pm
3 yard container: Located beside the Fire Hall. Available for use by Village Residents only. Can be used during renovations, etc. Charges are for the bin pickup fee plus the rental fee.

Transfer Station
The Village operates a Transfer Station for burnable lumber only.
A key is available at the Village Office on regular office days.
